SAP 20 years’ anniversary, proud to be part of the future with SAP!
What do you expect when you are invited to your Company 20 years’ anniversary? SAP Ireland won the best workplace in 2017, our CEO Liam Ryan been awarded the title of Ireland’s Most Trusted Leader.
So, there is no coincidence the set
up was just perfect. Let’s be honest using buses from Galway to Dublin with
hotel accommodation for all employees, is already a big undertake. But in our
business, we know small details are important. the SAP united scarf Is part of it
as a unique collectable. Even the brochures were designed but mainly thought so
well, it reminds us how well our SAP systems are engineered.
Arriving to the impressive Aviva
stadium is usually heart taking, this structure with a capacity of over 51000
spectators was just there for us that day. Home ground of sports legends and of
the Irish Rugby and Soccer team.
We were welcomed by our colleagues
from Dublin and access to amazing gourmet food and choice of refreshment. How
much better this can go?
Well, it did! The all hand meeting was delivered by SAP
Ireland CEO Liam Ryan with encouraging and appreciative words as a great leader
Liam is. Employees waving our SAP United Scarf reaffirming their engagement to
SAP.
We were honour by the presence of
Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation is Mary Mitchell O'Connor, who acknowledge
SAP great work in Ireland and employment growth.
Personally, the highlight of that
day was seeing and shake hand with Bill Mcdermott. It was only a few seconds
but meant a lot. I read his autobiography 2 years before joining SAP, At the
time I was leading my own team and in search of inspiration. A memorable
moment.
There was a great connection
between Liam and Bill and the discussion was relaxed and concise. Awarding the
dedicated employees after 20 years of service was a great moment I wanted to be
one of them.
The activities during that day consisted
of Sports banters, comedy stage, circus area, ladies pamper and gentleman’s
grooming area. So you had no chance to be bored and guaranteed a smile from
arrival to departure for sure.
Finally, when you think, things
cannot get better, we were lucky to have the “SpringBreak” that play the most exciting US
floor-fillers of the 80s and performed
over a thousand shows and Gavin James who won the Choice Music Prize Irish Song of the Year & Breaking Artist' awards exclusively for us ! We finished the evening socialising
surrounded by colleagues, personal stories, experiences and in such a great
overall mood.
What else could you expect? A
faultless organisation, a great company to work for and amazing people to work
with.
